If you don't want to "waste" foam out of the holes, keep a small spray bottle of water, once it is protruding from the hole, spray the surface of the foam with water and it will cure it instantly.

We use the blue IKEA bags for firewood. Much easier than carrying an armload. Both at the remote campsite where gathering is allowed (always obey the rules!) and at home from the woodpile to the house.

Best to use plastic or wooden spoon\sporks so you don’t scratch the pot!

My husband and I are camping in Big Bear, California. We decided to try a Mountain House dinner. Tonight we ate Chicken and Dumplings. WOW! It does somewhat feed 2 depending on how much you eat. But the Chicken and Dumplings actually taste like Chicken Pot Pie!! Sooooo good. We're definitely going to stock up on those. Hahaha

Firing a gun in a camping area is like shooting fish in a barrel though. There's a lot of people without any cover just tents and thin walled campers. Just saying.

If going for a long camping trip far into the woods check the phase of the moon, no moon no light after sunset. also use good rebar tent stakes & know at what angle to put them in the ground. If you get lost STOP moving & take a whistle with you, yelling for help gets old fast.

My best camping tip? Don’t waste any precious space in your beer/coolbox with those plastic iceblocks! Instead, make up your pancake mixture at home and pour it into empty 500ml plastic bottles, then freeze them. Use these to keep your beer etc cold. Then 2 or 3 days into your camp, once they’ve defrosted, you have pancake mixture ready to pour straight out of the bottle to cook. It’s basically edible coolant 😂 And, let’s be honest, you’ll have drunk all your beer by then 😂 You can do the same with milk. Keep just one bottle ready to use, but freeze any others and use as coolblocks. By the time you’ve run out of fresh milk, the frozen ones will be ready to use. But my pancake mixture bottles are by far my favourite hack! Everyone loves pancakes around the campfire 🔥

Potentially a stupid question but do you toss the bag every time you use it or do you use it a few times before tossing? We are tent camping on a friend’s woodland property that has no water, sewage or electric setup. I’m an experienced camper at campgrounds but trying to figure out my options before I commit to 4 days with no toilet. Also I’ll be the only girl in the group 😅

Thanks for the reviews folks! Very informative. I’m a foot taller than my wife, so the Maelstrom backpack would probably work better. It is on sale for $35 on Amazon at the moment. Maelstrom also had a hydration backpack that included a 2L water bladder but no hip pockets. It is a 20L size with an American flag on the front, but it does include a rain cover. It is $30 at the moment. Hope this helps.
